Tufts Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) provides free and confidential counseling to Tufts Students from 9-5, Monday through Friday. This type of counseling usually lasts about a semester. Psychiatric services are also available for those who wish to pursue medication. After hours, one of the counselors is on-call, and can be reached through the Tufts Police Non-Emergency number. Tufts Ears for Peers
Tufts Ears for Peers is a group of students who run both a phone and AIM messaging service to act as a listening ear to those who need it. They emphasize helping each individual feel listened to and understood, and do their best to connect callers to further resources that they may need. They operate every night from 7pm to every morning at 7am.

The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and counseling via phone and messaging for LGBTQ+ people ages 13-24. Their website is full of resources for LGBTQ+ individuals regarding sexual orientation, gender identity, suicide prevention, and more.

Renfrew Boston is located on Commonwealth Avenue, and specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses in women. Renfrew treatment centers can be found around the country, and they all focus on the same treatment philosophy. Crisis Center
The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) provides assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. They specialize in beginning the healing process and raising awareness about sexual violence.

Zencare is a free website to connect individuals with the counseling or other mental health services they need in the Boston Area. The website allows you to filter providers by profession, insurance, specialty, area, and and age group, and includes photos and videos of each provider in order to help you best understand the experience you may have with them.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is open 24 Hours, 7 days a week, and takes both calls and messages through their online chat on the website. This confidential resource services those in distress, as well as friends or loved ones who may be concerned about someone dealing with the effects of suicide.
SAMHSA, or the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, runs a confidential, 24/7 treatment referral routing service that provides information and treatment options to individuals (or loved ones of individuals) struggling with substance use disorders. This service is provided in English and Spanish, and is mainly an information service. For crisis counseling, it may be better to use another resource.

The Veterans Crisis Line connects veterans in crisis and their loved ones to qualified responders from the Department of Veteran Affairs. This resource is offered 24/7, and is free and confidential. Messaging, texting, and calling options are all available, as well as support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Their website also includes resources on mental health concerns specific to veterans.

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) works to support individuals and loved ones affected by eating disorders through prevention, treatment, and access to quality care. Their website is full of resources for those struggling with eating disorders, as well as a helpline and messaging service from the hours of 9am-9pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm on Friday.
